Originally built in 2007 and fully refurbished in 2022, The Canopy (formerly Johnston Court) is proudly owned by a local family, dedicated to rejuvenating one of the main thoroughfares in Sligo Town Centre. Extensive investment went into enhancing the mall's public spaces alongside a rebranding effort, transforming the Centre into The Canopy.

A recent partnership with a not for profit organisation, Hometree, has facilitated the purchase of 90 acres of land along the Easkey River in West Sligo. The land contains over 10 acres of ancient native hazel woods and was formerly used as cutover bog. Hometree will be reinstating the boglands and rewilding the site with native Irish trees.
